A targeted presence at the heart of yachting destinations
Founded in Monaco in 1995 by Michel Ducros, Monaco Marine has established itself as a benchmark in large-scale yacht and superyacht services. With its nine sites spread along the âeuros Mediterranean coastline from Monaco to La Ciotat, via Antibes, Beaulieu and Saint-Tropez âeuros, the company offers strategic coverage of the basinâ??s most popular ports of call.
Recognized expertise in refitting large units

Monaco Marine caters for yachts from 10 to 90 meters, with a particular expertise in heavy refits, notably at its La Ciotat yard. The group offers both routine maintenance operations and complex refits involving careening, technical reconfiguration, painting or reclassification. This industrial capability, rare in Europe, is a key asset in Safe Harbor's portfolio.
International expansion for a North American player

Safe Harbor Marinas, now controlled by the Blackstone Infrastructure fund since February 2025, boasts 149 marinas and boatyards worldwide. Monaco Marine's integration into this network represents a qualitative leap towards a transatlantic presence. Baxter Underwood, Managing Director, comments: " Serving captains, crews and owners in places like Saint-Tropez, Antibes and Monaco is a real source of pride. "
Consolidation in the superyacht market

This takeover illustrates a fundamental trend in the yachting industry: the concentration around groups with financial and operational capacities on a global scale. Faced with this dynamic, independent shipyards must adapt or cooperate to maintain their position. Safe Harbor's entry into the Mediterranean could reshuffle the deck, particularly as regards the reception and maintenance of very large yachts.
