Bord à Bord acquires Amares

Aluminum construction specialist Bord à Bord, based in Plestin les Grèves, has announced the acquisition of its neighboring Amares yard in North Finistère, at the start of 2024. Bord à Bord, which has made its back to sailing with the Iroise 48 also offers a range of powerboats for pleasure and pleasure craft. Amares is also active in powerboats for work or pleasure.

Mercury Marine product recall

Mercury Marine has issued a recall on 2 V6 and V8 outboard models in the UK. The air intake assembly could allow fingers to pass through, creating a risk of accident. No information on recalls in other countries is available.

First ICOMIA conference in Singapore

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) and the Singapore Boating Industry Association (SBIA) have announced the holding of the first ICOMIA Marine Industry Conference in 2024. It will be held in conjunction with the Singapore Yachting Festival, on April 23 and 24, highlighting ICOMIA's studies on decarbonization.

Fundraising for Vision Marine

Outboard motor manufacturer Vision Marine strengthens its capital base as it moves into industrial production. The Quebec government, through the Investissement Québec fund, will contribute US$3 million via the subscription of preferred shares. The aim is to keep Vision Marine in the province, where the company plans to recruit 24 new employees.

The Foiling Organization sets up in Genoa

The Foiling Organization, which brings together shipyards, builders, designers, research laboratories, classes, federations and event organizers involved in flying boats, has announced that it will set up its headquarters in Genoa in early 2024. Its congress will be held there in April.
