West Marine takes the Smartliner card

Dinard-based West Marine has signed a distribution agreement for France with Polish shipyard Smartliner, which offers a range of powerboats, helms and center consoles from 19 to 23 feet, for pleasure boating and leisure fishing. It is now building a distribution network in France.

Highfield Boats signs with Olympic Games

Highfield France has made official its partnership as an official supporter of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The brand will supply 91 customized RIBs for the sailing events in Marseille and the opening ceremony on the Seine.

Arradon increases its stake in Compagnie des Ports du Morbihan

On September 12, 2023, Arradon town council voted to increase its stake in Compagnie des Ports du Morbihan from 0.18% to 0.23%, representing an investment of ?20,000. The local public company, which covers the whole of Brittany, manages the local port. The company plans to invest ?4 million in Arradon over the period 2023 to 2028.

The DAME Award, which recognizes innovations in yachting equipment at METS Trade, has opened up new categories, grouped as follows:

New ICOMIA guide for smart marinas

The International Council of Marine Associations, or ICOMIA, has published a new free guide for marina managers. Available as a free download, it aims to help managers navigate the digital transformation of their work and the many innovations around the connected harbor.

Electric Boat of the Year Award

The Association Française du Bateau Electrique - AFBE - has named the winners of its trophies. Ibaia Boats won the public's "Coup de foudre" award for its solar-powered coche, and IDB Marine won the prize for innovation in use for its electric Mojito, with two jury mentions for Bagou Boats' Prim and Naviwatt's La Rochelle harbor vessel. Batopéi was awarded the retrofit prize, while Motion Concept Group won the technical innovation prize for its Kahé thrusters.

Death of Rémi Campan

Rémi Campan, founder of Bonaventura Yachting, distributor and installer of Flexiteek coverings, died at the beginning of October, following an illness. He worked hard for the development of this alternative to teak. The BoatIndustry team offers its sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
