Metstrade is preparing for its 2026 edition, which will focus on professional networking and changes in the boating industry. With more than 1,700 exhibitors spread across 13 halls, the trade show?held at the RAI Amsterdam?aims to strengthen its role as an international platform for equipment manufacturers, boat builders, naval architects, shipyards, distributors, and service providers. Beyond the exhibition itself, the organizers are placing greater emphasis on technical conferences, business meetings, and topics related to the industry?s transition.
A conference program refocused on industrial issues
The conferences are taking on a new format this year, with longer sessions designed to encourage interaction between speakers and participants.
The sessions will last 45 minutes and will be followed by 30 minutes of networking. This format applies in particular to the Metstrade Stage and Superyacht Stage areas, which will host discussions on technological developments, regulations, and new markets.
Topics to be covered include nuclear propulsion for superyachts, the operational implications of new propulsion technologies, and the implementation of the MARPOL Convention in recreational boating.
Artificial Intelligence Is Making Its Way Into Business Strategies
Artificial intelligence is one of the new topics being explored at this year's event. The North American Stage, organized in partnership with the NMMA, IBEX, and Soundings Trade Only, will feature a conference dedicated to new applications of AI in marine marketing.
The discussions will focus on the use of data, automated design tools, and new communication methods, with the participation of manufacturers, specialized agencies, and players in the boating media industry.
Sustainable development remains a key priority
Environmental issues continue to play a major role in the program. The Marine Impact Lab will assist exhibitors in presenting and highlighting the environmental performance of their products. Finalists in the DAME Design Awards will also receive specialized training on methods for assessing and communicating their environmental impact.
The organizers hope to encourage a more transparent approach to the innovations showcased at the trade show, at a time when environmental criteria are playing an increasingly important role in purchasing decisions.
A new exhibition layout to make the visitor experience more seamless
Metstrade is also announcing a complete reorganization of its layout. The areas dedicated to superyachts, marinas, shipyards, and construction materials will be consolidated to make it easier for visitors to move between these complementary sectors.
This change is intended to improve communication among professionals and optimize the time spent on sales meetings.
According to the organizers, this new layout will also make it possible to better support the growth of certain sectors, such as construction materials and equipment for large-scale facilities.
The Superyacht Forum kicks off the trade week
As in previous years, the Superyacht Forum will take place prior to the opening of the show. Scheduled for November 16 and 17, 2026, it will bring together the industry?s key decision-makers to discuss the theme ?Accelerating Change.? Discussions will focus in particular on the energy transition, port infrastructure, regulations, human resources, and industrial organization.
The opening of registration now marks the start of preparations for this week-long event, which remains one of the leading international gatherings for professionals in the recreational boating industry. Visitors can register for free until November 1, 2026, after which registration will become a paid service.
