The 2025 edition of the DAME Design Awards, the benchmark international competition for marine equipment design, confirms its central role in the industry. Never before have so many products been entered since the introduction of entry fees. A dynamic that reveals a sector in full reconfiguration, where design is no longer an accessory but an industrial lever in its own right.
Record attendance for the 34th edition
With 146 products entered and 67 shortlisted, the DAME Design Awards 2025 are showing their vitality. The renewed interest in this competition confirms the growing importance of design as a strategic element in the conception of nautical equipment, whether to improve ergonomics, reliability, aesthetics or the integration of on-board functions.

The products nominated cover all the show's categories: deck fittings, electronics, propulsion, safety, comfort and more. This diversity reflects the industry's global investment in improving the user experience and simplifying installations for shipyards.
Recognition sought by equipment manufacturers
The 67 nominated products will be on display at Metstrade (Hall 13) from November 18 to 20, 2025. The overall prize, the eight category winners and the special mentions will be announced at the official opening ceremony.

This recognition enables manufacturers to position their innovations vis-à-vis the market and benefit from a recognized label. For many brands, a nomination or win at the DAME often translates into an acceleration in sales, particularly in export markets.
A strong environmental focus
As in 2024, entry fees for the competition will be entirely donated to the Ocean Conservation Trust, an association committed to preserving the marine environment. A move in line with the industry's trend to integrate sustainability into its design criteria.

Since its creation in 1991, the DAME Design Awards have acted as a barometer of technical progress in the marine equipment sector. It rewards global product design, taking into account performance, manufacture, installation, maintenance and end-of-life.
In a market marked by rising customer standards and direct comparisons with the automotive and consumer electronics industries, design is becoming a key function for equipment manufacturers and an argument of choice for construction sites.
