Saint-Jacut Nautisme : Return of a construction site in the port of North Brittany

A new shipyard was reborn in the port of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer in the Côtes-d'Armor. Julien Poussin, one of the 3 partners, tells us about the ambitions of this new company at the service of North Brittany boaters.

Launch of Saint-Jacut Nautisme

After several years of closure, a shipyard will be reopened in Saint-Jacut de la Mer. 3 entrepreneurs have joined forces to found Saint-Jacut Nautisme, which will open on June 20, 2023. Julien Poussin, one of the 3 leaders, tells: "We are already associated with Sébastien Lemoigne in the Dinard Marine shipyard. With a third partner, Corentin Guesnel, we seized the opportunity. The shipyard had ceased its activity 4 years ago following a fire."

All services for the boater

Saint-Jacut Nautisme will be able to meet the main demands of boaters. On a 4,000 m2 site, the yard will be able to store boats indoors and outdoors. Installed with its feet in the water, it is able to take out boats, even masted ones, although the specialty is rather turned towards motor boats. Julien Poussin indicates: "Corentin is a confirmed marine technician. We will be able to do all the maintenance, with a mechanical workshop, but also polyester repairs and the sale of new or used boats, as well as trailers or engines. Corentin will start the business, before seeing if we need to recruit additional staff to help him"

Expand the offer for local boaters

Already established in Dinard, the entrepreneurs see Saint-Jacut as a logical extension. Julien Poussin explains it this way. "It is the same geographical area of Dinard. We already have customers who sail in the area, with few local structures. Initially, Saint-Jacut Nautisme will be an agent for Italian BSC RIBs and Mercury engines as in Dinard, but may expand in time."
