Foutaine-Pajot: Sales up in 2020-21, still affected by the crisis

The leader in the yachting industry in La Rochelle has unveiled the final results for its 2020-21 fiscal year. The rebound in the yachting market is benefiting the Dufour monohull and Fountaine-Pajot multihull brands, with double-digit growth.

Increased sales in 2020-21

The Fountaine-Pajot group has unveiled the final figures for its 2020-21 fiscal year. The fiscal year ending August 31, 2021, shows annual revenues of 202.3 Meuros, up +17% compared to the 2019-20 period during which it had fallen to 172 Meuros. The pleasure boat builder, which heads the Fountaine-Pajot and Dufour Yachts brands, is pleased with a "strong rebound in activity". However, this does not make up for all the effects of the Covid crisis. The turnover remains below that of 2018-19, established at 207.1 Meuros. While exports, established at 87%, are carrying the activity, particularly in Europe (38%), the collapse of sales of multihull and monohull sailboats to boat rental companies has caused the charter sector to fall by 77%.
The catamarans that will contribute the most to revenues in 2020-21 are the Elba 45 and the Alegria 67 for sailing and the MY44 for power multihulls, while in monohulls, the Dufour 390, Dufour 430 and Dufour 530 are the most significant.

2021-22 growth subject to the international context

Like the economy as a whole, the yachting industry is subject to fluctuations in the price of raw materials and equipment. As a result, while the market is definitely on the rise, the boatbuilder is conditioning its continued growth on the effects of the supply crisis. A recruitment program is continuing to enable the company to deliver boats in a context of strong demand.
