After a 27% decline in the first half of the year, sales momentum has now reversed, with order intake up 33%, once again exceeding sales levels. A trend that Bruno Thivoyon, Chairman of the Management Board, welcomes with optimism: " As expected, this trend will translate into a gradual recovery in sales growth over the coming quarters."
Engines in full force, sailing still held back
While the sailing segment continued to lag behind, with a 36% drop in sales in Q3 âeuros, due to the downturn in the professional charter market and a wait-and-see attitude towards âeuro monohulls, the motor segment posted a healthy 23% increase. PRESTIGE multihulls, the best-sellers Merry Fisher 1295 and Wellcraft 38 T-TOP boosted results, confirming the strategic shift towards premium.
On the sailing front, there are still a few grounds for satisfaction: new models such as the Lagoon 43, the Excess 13 and the brand-new Lagoon 38 are keeping up interest in a market that is in the process of normalizing.
New products drive recovery
The 23 new models unveiled at the Cannes boat show contributed significantly to this rebound, accounting for a third of all orders since the beginning of the year. The Group's product strategy is proving its effectiveness, from the accessibility of the First 30 and Swift Trawler 37 to the upscale Oceanis 52 and Prestige M7.
Beneteau now expects fourth-quarter sales of around ?300 million, on a par with 2024. Better still, a return to profitability is forecast for the second half of 2025, after a loss-making first half.
Contrasting markets, global ambitions
In North America, the market rebounded (+8%) despite the weight of customs duties and a strong euro. In Europe, the Group managed to cushion the downturn thanks to its dense presence. Asian and emerging markets remained more subdued.
In Services, the acquisition of BMS strengthens the Group's premium after-sales offering. On the other hand, Your Boat Club, an American structure in which Beneteau holds a 49% stake, remains in difficulty. The company is currently studying various options for repositioning this business.
Heading for Paris, Düsseldorf and Miami
Beneteau intends to capitalize on this positive momentum at the major upcoming events: the Nautic in Paris (November 26-30), Düsseldorf, then Miami in early 2026. These shows will be decisive in fine-tuning the outlook for the 2025/2026 season and gauging the market's appetite across all segments.
In the midst of a strategic transition, the Beneteau group seems determined to regain the wind in its sails.
