Groupe Bénéteau: sales exceed ?1.5 billion

The Bénéteau Group has published its final results for the 2022 financial year. The figures are marked by significant growth in earnings and operating profitability.

Record sales and results

In fiscal year 2022, the Bénéteau Group posted record sales, up 22.9% on a reported basis. 1.508 billion for the Group as a whole and ?1.251 billion for the Boat Division, up 19.7% for the latter.

Changes in industrial organization and improvements in supply chains also enabled the company to improve its net results and operating profitability. EBITDA reached 15.2% of revenues, at 229.2 million euros, including 198.8 million euros. Recurring operating income amounted to 10.3% of revenues, or 154.7 million euros, up 2.5 points. Growth for the Boat Division was +55.7% to 131.8 million euros.

A positive economic climate

The Bénéteau Group notes the positive effect of the euro-dollar exchange rate. It also notes the growth of the three boat rental and boat club companies in which it has acquired shares, namely Dream Yacht Charter, Navigare Yachting and Your Boat Club. They have returned to pre-covid levels and an increase in net income of 11 million euros.

It also reported a return to a normal level of finished goods inventories and an increase in raw materials cover stocks of +27 million euros.

Social and environmental commitments

In addition, the Bénéteau Group is pleased to report a sharp reduction in workplace accidents, despite strong recruitment. The lost time accident frequency rate has fallen by more than 25% between 2021 and 2022. It has set a target of a 15% reduction by 2026.

The life cycle studies conducted on the Boat Division should make it possible to make progress in reducing the company's impacts. The company claims to have reduced its direct emissions by 14% between 2022 and 2021.

Optimistic outlook for 2023

The French leader has maintained its growth ambitions for 2023. It is counting on a 10% increase in revenues for the Boat Division and a current operating margin of more than 10.5%. Overall sales are expected to exceed 1.66 billion euros.
