HanseYachts improves profitability despite lower sales in the first half of 2025

German shipyard HanseYachts AG reported a significant improvement in operating profitability in the first half of 2025, despite a decline in sales of almost 15âeuros¯%. This turnaround is supported by industrial efficiency measures and a debt restructuring agreement.

Business down in a tense global market

According to preliminary results published on July 21, 2025, HanseYachts generated sales of 77.37 million euros in the first six months of the fiscal year, compared with 90.70 million euros for the same period in 2024, a decline of 14.7âeuros¯%. This contraction is explained by the general slowdown in the world shipbuilding market, marked by falling demand and reduced visibility on medium-term orders.

Profitability restored thanks to internal levers

On the other hand, profitability indicators improved significantly: operating EBITDA reached 6.15 million euros, compared with 3.95 million last year, while operating income returned to positive territory at 1.08 million euros (compared with a loss of 1.18 million in 2024). These results exclude the exceptional effects of financial restructuring.

The company attributes this performance to the optimization of its industrial processes, a reduction in fixed costs and a more focused sales strategy. This operational turnaround enables the Group to speak of a return to "sustainable" momentum in its core business.

Debt forgiveness and exceptional impact on net income

HanseYachts also benefited from a financial restructuring agreement reached with its banking partners, the federal state concerned, and its former majority shareholder. This plan includes a partial write-off of receivables, with an exceptional positive impact on consolidated net income, which totaled 23.16 million euros for the half-year.

On course despite uncertainty

For Hanjo Runde, Managing Director of HanseYachts, the economic situation remains fragile: " The buying climate remains hesitant in the global yacht market. Against this uncertain backdrop, our team has delivered a solid performance, which we will build on. "

In a yachting market still buffeted by post-Covid adjustments and fluctuating demand, HanseYachts is demonstrating that an industrial turnaround is possible thanks to rigorous operational discipline and controlled financial restructuring. It remains to be seen whether this momentum can be sustained in the second half of the year, in a still unstable environment.
