Hanse Group to launch its 3rd motorboat brand

Assembly of a Sealine boat, one of the motorboat brands of the Hanse Group

German yachting specialist Hanse has announced the addition of a 7th brand to its portfolio alongside Hanse, Dehler, Moody, Privilege, Fjord and Sealine. More details on its positioning and the industrial organization for the production of the boats.

New motorboat brand joins the Hanse Group

HanseYachts AG already has six sailing and motorboat brands, through the Hanse, Dehler and Moody sailing monohulls, Privilege catamarans and Fjord and Sealine motorboats. The German group will expand its catalog in 2021-2022, with the arrival of a new brand in motorboats. Under this new identity, the shipyard will offer boats with outboard engines between 24 and 39 feet in length. The yard intends to "set new standards for sleeping, bathing and piloting." Marketing rollout is expected in the first quarter of fiscal year 2021-2022.

Expansion of the boat factory in Poland

The German group, based in Greifswald in the north of the country, also has plants in France and Poland. It is counting on the latter site to increase its production and meet the needs of the new brand. A 27,500 m² plot of land adjacent to the current factory has been acquired, increasing the surface area by 40%. The management estimates the increase in manufacturing potential at 250 boats.

Maintain growth objectives in a troubled marine market

While orders are growing at Hanse, as in the rest of the nautical industry, the shipyard is suffering from supply difficulties. In 3 months since April 2021, the shipyard stocks between 45 and 65 boats, 99% complete. The delivery of these units is blocked by the absence of equipment due to worldwide shortages and logistical difficulties. These boats, worth between 10 and 15 million euros, will not be included in the 2020-2021 results, closed on June 30. The arrival of the new motorboat brand should contribute to the stated objective of 200 million euros in revenues, with an EBITDA margin of 10%.
