The Italian yachting specialist Cantiere del Pardo, at the head of Grand Soleil, Pardo Yachts and Van Dutch, is changing owners. A lever to consider new acquisitions in the yachting sector and expansion towards new boat sizes.

Investment fund takes control of Cantiere del Pardo

The historic directors of the Italian shipyard Cantiere del Pardo, Fabio Planamente and Luigi Servidati, were became majority shareholders of the group in October 2018 The company's new acquisition of the Trevisani family and Andrea Amadori, ending rumours of disinvestment by the shareholders who have owned the company since 2014. Two years after this transaction, the two partners announced on 3 December 2020 that they had sold the majority of the capital to the Italian investment fund Wise Equity. The latter acquired 60% of the shares of the company, which owns the Grand Soleil sailing yacht and motor yacht brands Pardo Yachts and Van Dutch. The management team remains in place.

The arrival of the new shareholder should enable the shipyard to increase its investment capacity in both sailing and motor yachting. Cantiere del Pardo indicates that it wants to strengthen its leadership in the 30-80 foot segment, but also to evaluate opportunities for expansion in other segments of the yachting industry. After the acquisition of Van Dutch in June 2020 The Italian group will continue to explore opportunities for external growth.
