Memorandum of understanding signed

On December 21, the Sanlorenzo and Nautor Swan shipyards announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding, opening a period of exclusive negotiations on potential strategic alliances between the two players in the yachting industry. The Italian motoryacht manufacturer and the Finnish brand owned by Sawa Srl, famous for its Swan sailboats, and currently expanding into motorboats, will explore joint development opportunities.

Creating a "high-end nautical center

Sanlorenzo's CEO, Massimo Perotti, underlines the potential contribution of Swan's historical heritage, while the company has already completed 3 acquisitions since the end of 2022, in charter, boat fitting and distribution, with Simpson Marine, the latest purchase: "This transaction, if completed, should expand Sanlorenzo's presence in the high-end yachting industry, preserving the long-standing expertise and experience of Swan, which brings a unique heritage to Sanlorenzo. The combination of these brands in the same group would create a unique Motor and Sailing Yacht House, in the competitive landscape of high-end yachting."

For his part, Swan president Leonardo Ferragamo adds: "A strategic partnership with the Sanlorenzo Group would offer several opportunities to move forward on a virtuous path, with joint investments in innovative technologies, sustainable development and a wider service network for our customers around the world."
