Michael Müller left, takes over the helm from Marc Diening left

German shipyard Bavaria Yachts has announced a change in management. Michael Müller takes over the helm of the sail and powerboat shipyard, which he left in 2021.

Michael Müller returns to the helm of Bavaria

German manufacturer Bavaria is changing its Managing Director. Marc Diening, who has held the position since 2021, is handing over to Michael Müller at his own request, according to the shipyard. Michael Müller is not new to the Giebelstadt shipyard, as it was he who handed over to Marc Diening in 2021. From 2019 to 2021, Michael Müller led the company through a period of bankruptcy, followed by a takeover by the CMP fund. Since then, he has remained a member of the supervisory board. He will continue to be supported by Chief Operating Officer Norbert Leifeld and Chief Financial Officer Thorsten Gatz.

Positive site dynamics

Michael Müller returns to the helm of the brand in a difficult market context, but with positive momentum for the shipyard. The new models, presented first under his leadership and then under that of his successor, were well received by the public and the profession, with several awards and nominations, both in sailing and motoring, with the latest C46 and SR33. The company's profitability has improved, despite the Covid crisis and rising material costs. The company currently employs 700 people at its plant near Würzburg, Germany.
