Technique Voile joins Incidence to strengthen the 1st French sailmaker

The Incidence group has announced the conclusion of the acquisition of Technique Voile. Alongside Incidence Sails and Delta Voile, the brand will benefit from the synergy effects of the 1st French sailmaker.

Incidence Group takes control of Technique Voile

The discussions, which began in April 2022, between the sailmaker Technique Voile and the holding company Incidence Group, were concluded on July 12, 2022. The first French sailmaker has acquired 100% of Technique Voile's shares. This is the second major acquisition for Incidence, following that of Delta Voile in March 2018.

The group now employs a total of 152 people, with a turnover of 20.8 million euros. Technique Voile becomes the second brand, with 28 employees, 4.2 million euros in sales and a sail production site in La Trinité. The teams remain unchanged for the moment.

Frédéric Duthil, who is selling Technique Voile, will remain as Managing Director until the end of 2022, before taking on a new role alongside Matthias de Christen, Managing Director of the Incidence Group. At the same time, he continues his commitment to competition in the Figaro 3 in the next Solitaire du Figaro.

Synergies between sailmakers

If the management of the Incidence group refuses at this stage to communicate on its strategic projects following the integration of Technique Voile, we can easily imagine that synergies will be found between the different brands. It is known that Technique Voile's customers will now have access to the membranes developed by Incidence Technologies, in particular the D4® and DFi® membranes. Beyond that, we can imagine that mutualization, at least of skills, could be found in the field of technical development, based on the respective anchorage of the brands in yachting, amateur regatta or offshore racing.
