Boat orders up at Fountaine-Pajot and Dufour

The Fountaine-Pajot group has published its activity figures for the first half of 2020/2021 for its eponymous catamarans and Dufour monohulls. The shipyard based in La Rochelle has been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis, but has optimistic growth forecasts for 2020/2021.

Decrease in revenues in Q1 2020/2021

The Fountaine-Pajot group has published its activity data for the first half of its 2020-2021 fiscal year, running from 01/09/2020 to 31/08/2021. The manufacturer of Fountaine-Pajot catamarans and Dufour Yachts monohulls in La Rochelle has seen its sales drop over the period, from 93.4 million euros to 84.5 million euros, a decline of -9.5%. The manufacturer justifies this contraction by the uncertain economic context. It underlines its international anchoring. Exports represent 92% of sales, including 32% in North America, 28% for large-scale exports and 27% in Europe.

Optimism for boat sales in 2021

The outlook remains good for the end of the fiscal year in August 2021. The shipyard has increased its order book at the end of February 2021. The volume of orders for the current fiscal year is 194 Meuros, up +10%. Private events and digital operations made up for the absence of fall trade shows in 2020, the traditional order-taking period for shipyards.

The Fountaine-Pajot group indicates that the pace of production is accelerating, and that it is succeeding in getting all employees to work in compliance with health regulations. Counting on the new models to come, Samana 59 and Isla 40 for sailing catamarans, MY4S for motoryachts and the Dufour 470 and Dufour 61, it is showing its optimism by voting for the payment of dividends to shareholders of 1.68 euros per share.
