With the T700, TEMO introduces a new electric outboard motor designed for tenders and small boats. Priced at ?1,390 (including tax), this 700-watt model features a modular design that makes its components easily accessible. This design is intended to simplify maintenance and prevent a single component failure from requiring replacement of the entire motor.
An open architecture to facilitate repairs
The new TEMO T700 is instantly recognizable by its unusual silhouette. Rather than an assembly encased in a housing, the Breton manufacturer opted for a structure consisting of two large aluminum side plates. The various mechanical and electrical components are housed between these two side plates.

This architecture forms the basis of what TEMO calls "Open Machine Design." The motor, its electronic controller, the battery, the display, and the acceleration control are organized into separate modules.

The goal is to make components easier to identify, disassemble, and replace. This approach directly benefits boaters: on an electric motor, a failure in the control electronics or the display does not necessarily mean that the propulsion system is out of commission. By separating functions, TEMO aims to enable targeted repairs without having to replace an entire assembly.
A removable 594 Wh battery and 700 W of power
The T700 has a rated electrical power output of 700 W and, according to the manufacturer, a static thrust of 18 kg. It is primarily designed for dinghies, small rowboats, and recreational fishing boats.
TEMO mentions that the system can be used on boats weighing up to one metric ton, while noting that this limit depends on the hull design. Therefore, this value should not be considered a guaranteed propulsion capacity under all conditions.

With 700 W, the T700 is primarily designed for travel at moderate speeds. For a dinghy, power requirements can vary significantly depending on the onboard load, wind resistance, current, or chop. A motor that provides sufficient power for a sheltered trip may prove less suitable when conditions deteriorate.
Power is supplied by a removable 594 Wh battery operating at 36 V. TEMO claims a runtime of approximately one hour at full power.
A 10-kg outboard motor designed for easy handling
The T700 has a total weight of 10 kg, including 3 kg for the removable battery. The battery can be removed separately from the rest of the motor, allowing the two components to be separated during handling. This is a practical feature for sailboat owners who regularly move their outboard motor between the transom of the dinghy and its storage location on board.
The tiller is foldable and adjustable. The shaft height and engine tilt can also be adjusted to accommodate different transom configurations.

TEMO has opted for a quick-release mounting system. Propulsion is controlled by a rotary handle that allows for forward and reverse movement, while a built-in display provides operational information.

Mechanically, the T700 uses a brushless electric motor of the inrunner , with direct drive. This design eliminates the need for an intermediate mechanical transmission between the engine and the propeller.
The manufacturer also specifies an IP67 rating. This rating refers to the equipment's protection against dust and temporary immersion under standardized conditions. It does not mean that the motor can be left submerged permanently.
A replaceable battery, but one that cannot be repaired by the user
The T700's open design does not mean that the owner will be able to perform all maintenance tasks. TEMO notes that removing the motor does not, in and of itself, void the warranty. The battery can be removed and replaced as a complete module.
However, opening the battery pack and performing work inside it are restricted to TEMO or an authorized after-sales service partner. This distinction is important. Lithium-ion batteries require special precautions, and the T700?s advertised serviceability primarily concerns the accessibility and replacement of subassemblies.
The manufacturer also plans to upgrade certain components over time, with the possibility of integrating future technologies.
A listed price of ?1,390, including tax
The TEMO T700 is available at a suggested retail price of ?1,390, including tax.
This model fits into a product line in which TEMO already offers the TEMO·450 and the TEMO·1000. The new model falls between these two engines in terms of power, while featuring a different design.

The engine will be available in five additional colors, in addition to its original color options. The first deliveries are scheduled for April 2027.
