Strategic continuity at the top
Bavaria Yachts announces a significant change in corporate governance. After five years at the head of the company, Michael Müller is stepping down as CEO. He is replaced by Norbert Leifeld, previously Chief Operating Officer. This transition is part of a strategy of continuity, with Müller joining the Board of Directors of Bavaria Yachtbau Holding, alongside Kai Brandes (CMP) and Dr Hans-Peter Mertens (Stürtz Group).

An experienced profile to steer the next phase
Norbert Leifeld, a 15-year yachting industry consultant, joined Bavaria as COO in 2023. He is also President of Nautitech, the French catamaran shipyard owned by the same group. With cross-functional experience in both product development and industrial production, he is highly regarded for his in-depth knowledge of the yachting value chain and the Bavaria ecosystem.
An industrial strategy tailored to the economic situation

Under the leadership of Michael Müller, Bavaria has not only renewed its product range with the C-Line for sailing boats and the SR-Line for motorboats, but has also introduced what is known as "breathable" production. This flexible approach makes it possible to adapt the pace of production to market fluctuations, a crucial advantage in an uncertain economic climate. This agile management of the production chain will be reinforced under the Leifeld era.
Objective: electrification, service and loyalty
The new management is betting on enriching the range with electric engines to attract new customers, while strengthening support for existing owners. The network of Bavaria service centers will be extended, as will after-sales services and user training. A strategy geared to building customer loyalty and enhancing the customer experience.
A brand rooted in German production
Since 1978, Bavaria Yachts has produced over 42,000 units. All manufacturing remains centralized in Giebelstadt, on a 70,000 m² site structured around four production lines. Bavaria Yachts is Germany's leading manufacturer of yachts from 30 to 57 feet, and claims the "Made in Germany" label as a guarantee of quality and durability.
