METS Trade: Record attendance

The METS Trade International Boat & Yacht Show closed its doors on November 17, 2023 with record attendance for its 35th anniversary. Organizers report that 18,630 visitors from 130 countries came to meet the 1,540 exhibitors at the benchmark BtoB event for yachting professionals.

Lagoon seals partnership with Uvoji

Catamaran manufacturer Lagoon has announced a partnership with water purification specialist Oji Nautic. The brand's entire range of multihulls will be equipped with Oji Nautic systems for UV treatment of tank water for onboard use.

Wauquiez changes visual identity

Wauquiez shipyard gets a new logo. The new graphic charter, says the shipyard, "represents the perfect alliance between tradition and innovation, symbolizing the commitment to excellence and constant progress." It also evokes "luxury, sophistication and expertise".

Death of an INB pillar

Michel Worontzoff, former director of the Institut Nautique de Bretagne from 1981 to 2009, passed away on Monday November 20, 2023. An alumnus of the École des chefs de bases nautiques, created in 1965, the forerunner of the INB, he helped steer the former Gléans structure towards a wider range of training courses sought after by nautical companies.

3 indictments in Cavalaire port case

The public prosecutor's office in Grasse, Alpes-Maritimes, has indicted three people following its investigation into works at the port of Cavalaire. The Anticor association had reported irregularities in the awarding of public contracts.
