Port Navy Service invests in used boat space

The Port Navy Service yard in Port Saint-Louis du Rhône announces the creation of a new sales area dedicated exclusively to used boats. Part of the large onshore yard will be reserved for brokerage, to make it a "permanent used boat show".

Mer Invest celebrates its 5th anniversary

The Mer Invest investment fund, launched in 2018 by Banque Populaire Grand Ouest and its Crédit Maritime brand, celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2023. Since its creation, nearly 9 million euros have been invested in 25 companies in the maritime sector, to support innovation. The bank is set to support 4 new projects by autumn 2023, with a capital investment of 1.7 million euros. The overall fund has been increased to 15 million euros by 2023.

Rolls-Royce takes control of Team Italia

On July 3, 2023, equipment manufacturer Rolls Royce announced the acquisition of Team Italia - Onyx Marine. Founded in 2000, this designer of electronic bridge and automation systems reinforces the vertical integration sought by Rolls Royce in its "Bridge to propeller" strategy for complete propulsion and control offerings, on which the companies have been collaborating since 2019.

Yamaha integrates its electronics subsidiary

Japanese engine manufacturer Yamaha Motor Company has announced its intention to merge with its subsidiary Yamaha Motor Electronics co within 18 months. The operation is part of the medium-term management plan announced in 2022 by the Japanese firm.

AFBE and AVEM join forces

Historic players in electric mobility, the Association Française du Bateau Electrique (AFBE) and the Association du Véhicule Electro-Mobile (AVEM) have joined forces through a cross-membership and partnership agreement. The two associations will work together on events and benefit from a mutual contribution of knowledge and know-how.

2nd wave of the Advenir call for projects

After a 1st wave at the end of 2022, in mid-June the Advenir program launched a new call for projects to finance charging stations for electric boats, to be submitted by October 31, 2023.

Sea.AI equips the Polarfront to fine-tune its system in the ice

Sea.AI has announced a partnership with Latitude Blanche, the operator of the Polarfront polar cruise ship. The former weather ship will collect data on the presence of icebergs and cetaceans, coupled with weather data, to refine detection systems for the safety of ships sailing in these areas.
