RS Electric Boats invests to meet the demand for electric RIBs

Pulse 63 from RS Electric Boats

Faced with the success of the Pulse 63, the RS Electric Boats shipyard, a subsidiary of RS Sailing, is acquiring a new production tool. A choice coupled with a reorganization of the company.

New factory for the Pulse 63

Electric-powered RIB manufacturer RS Electric Boats has announced a reorganization of its production. A spin-off from British sailboat builder RS Sailing, the company shared its manufacturing site in Romsey for its early Pulse 63 models. RS Electric Boats will now occupy premises at the MDL Marina site in Hamble. This will provide more space for production and easier access to the sea for customer trials and testing on the Solent.

Success of the electric RIB

The industrial choice is guided by the success of the British brand with its first electric RIB model, the Pulse 63. Indeed, the shipyard has the ambition to produce 50 boats by the end of 2022.

"We have been inundated with requests for the Pulse 63 from all over the world, including marine organizations, sailing schools, superyacht captains, and boaters, and we should be making our first deliveries to customers very soon," said Jon Partridge, sales manager for RS Electric Boats.

A first agreement has been signed with the SailGP competition to equip the coaching fleet with 4 Pulse 63. The electric RIB has a cruising speed of 23 knots.

Recruiting to meet demand

To ensure the growth of RS Electric Boats, recruitments have been launched. Rob Hopper has joined the yard to ensure efficient, quality boat production. The company is also announcing its intention to rapidly recruit new employees in the areas of design, production and sales
