Bella Boats launches into electric boats and online sales

The Finnish shipyard Bella Boats has announced the launch of its first electric boat model. This innovation is accompanied by a change in the distribution model.

Bella Zero, 1st electric boat from Bella Boats

The Scandinavian group Nimbus, head of the brands Alukin, Aquador, Bella, Falcon, Flipper, Nimbus and Paragon Yachts, is taking its first step into the electric boat sector. He announced the launch of the Bella Zero 6.3 . It is a boat in design category C, with a length of 6.30 m and a width of 2.45 m, whose style seems destined for Scandinavian sheltered waters and canals. It is equipped with a 33 kW 96 V outboard motor from the Swedish brand Stream Propulsion, founded in 2020 by Tom Kühne and Benny Lindbrandt. With a battery park of 25.9 kWh, the displacement of the boat is 1250 kg. The manufacturer announces a maximum speed of 11 knots and a cruising speed between 5 and 7 knots.

Boats sold only on the internet

For Bella Boats, the new boat does not only innovate with its electric motorization. The Finnish shipyard is also reviewing its marketing method. The Bella Zero 6.3 is not sold in dealerships. Boaters will have to buy it on the Internet. The manufacturer insists on its desire to offer an affordable electric boat and thus intends to save on the final price for the user. The approach of direct control of boat sales is also part of the process initiated by the parent company, the Swedish group Nimbus. The latter is gradually buying out some of its dealers and distributors to ensure the marketing of its boats itself.
