The Bénéteau Group has announced a series of job changes and promotions within its Boat Division. The Bénéteau, Lagoon and CNB yard brands are changing directors.

Cascading job changes within the Bénéteau Group

On October 14, 2020, the Bénéteau Group announced a wave of appointments and job changes. The organization chart for the Bénéteau, Lagoon and CNBYachts brands and the Bordeaux Shipbuilding subsidiary are changing.

Luca Brancaleon joins the Bénéteau Group's General Management. He joined the French leader in the yachting industry in May 2017 as Commercial Director of the Bénéteau brand, and took over as Chief Executive Officer in September 2017. He now holds the new position of Deputy Director of Brand and Product Strategy for the Group, rebuilding the pairing in place on his arrival at Bénéteau with Gianguido Girotti, Executive Vice President Brand and Product Strategy within the Group.

Yann Masselot is leaving Construction Navale de Bordeaux, of which he took over the general management in 2018 and the Lagoon brand, which he has been managing since 2000, to replace Luca Brancaleon at the head of the Bénéteau brand. He retains the management of the CNB Yachts brand, built in Italy since 2019, until the end of the transition period. In its strategic plan, the Bénéteau Group has announced its intention to sell or operate the brand as an industrial partnership.

Thomas Gailly will take over as director of the Lagoon catamaran brand on October 15, 2020. He joined the Bénéteau Group in 2005, he is a catamaran specialist and was until now Director of Customer Services for Lagoon, Excess and CNB Yachts.

Yann Masselot's industrial function as Managing Director of Construction Navale de Bordeaux, a subsidiary of the group, is taken over by Clément Himily. With a background in industry, he joined CNB in 2017, following in particular the industrial transformation projects of the Bordeaux sire.

Centralization of the Bénéteau Group and brand / production distinction

The process of strengthening decision-making functions at Group level is continuing for the Bénéteau Group's Boat business. The stated desire to manage the strategy of the sailing and powerboat brands from the top is confirmed by the strengthening of the Brand and Product Strategy department with the arrival of Luca Brancaleon. The separation of the production aspects, overseen by Jean-Paul Chapeleau, from the brand policy is confirmed by the separation of the functions formerly performed by Yann Masselot. The Bordeaux site will no longer have any link with the CNB Yachts brand. Bringing together the management of Lagoon and Excess, it becomes the "center of excellence" for large catamarans.
