A French foil alliance

Founded in 2018, BirdyFish quickly made a name for itself with its double foiling dinghies, recognizable by their pink appendages. By integrating the Ioda, a single-handed foiler developed in 2019 by Hervé and Jules Devic, the company is taking another step forward. The aim of this alliance is to pool resources, skills and distribution networks to consolidate a unique offering on the international foiling dinghy market.
Ioda, an affordable pocket foiler

Designed as an introduction to flying, the Ioda is a 3.20 m solo dinghy weighing just 55 kg. Transportable, easy to rig in five minutes, it takes off in 8 knots of wind and reaches speeds of up to 24 knots. Its stability and low price (?9,000 excl. VAT) make it a boat designed to appeal to a wide audience, from yacht clubs to private users. With over 30 units already in the water, it is considered one of the most affordable foilers on the market.
A complete range

With the arrival of the Ioda, BirdyFish now offers three complementary models:
- Ioda by BirdyFish: single-handed, 3.20 m, 5.4 to 6.5 m² sail area.
- BirdyFish S: single or double, 4.20 m, 9.5 m² sail area.
- BirdyFish: double or triple, 4.70 m, 14 to 20 m² sail area.
This segmentation responds to distinct uses, from individual learning to crewed sailing. The shipyard is thus consolidating its position as leader in accessible foiling dinghies, a market in full structuring.
A strong signal for the French boating industry
With this integration, BirdyFish reaffirms its mission: to make light gliding accessible to all. The arrival of Jules Devic as technical sales representative in the team embodies the continuity of the project and the transmission of the experience accumulated since the genesis of Ioda. For the French yachting industry, this alliance illustrates the ability of young shipyards to innovate, cooperate and structure a segment still in its infancy.
