Publication of the ICOMIA statistics booklet

The International Council Of Marine Industry Associations - ICOMIA, which brings together the national associations representing the marine industries, has published its annual statistical report. As always, data processing involves a year shift, so ICOMIA is unveiling the 2022 statistical booklet. It compiles figures, data and outlooks, including :

  • General 2023 data and market analysis
  • Detailed reports for 25 countries
  • A summary of key market segments
  • Data on the marine import-export market
  • ICOMIA marine engine statistics
  • International boat show statistics
  • Superyacht Group report
  • Annual data tables

Sold by ICOMIA at a price of 880Â euros, it is available at half price for members of its membership.

Shared international challenges

Without divulging the content of its report, ICOMIA sketches out a few guidelines for its conclusions. Boat sales in 2022 will remain high, despite inflation and taxation, with demand for new boats outstripping supply. Employee recruitment and retention is a concern shared by the marine industry, whatever the size of the company.

In terms of uses and techniques, ICOMIA highlights the emergence of alternative engines and propulsion systems, as well as a shift, especially among young and new boaters, from ownership to rental or boat-sharing systems.
