The Breton ocean racing specialist, CDK Technologies, has announced the conclusion of its acquisition of C3 Technologies in La Rochelle. This acquisition is accompanied by investments in the production facilities in Lorient.

Finalization of the acquisition of C3 Technologies

The Finisterian company CDK Technologies had indicated in November 2022 that it had entered into discussions with a view to acquiring the Roche-based company C3 Technologies. The two major players in the ocean racing industry announced on December 22, 2022 the success of these negotiations. C3 Technologies will join CDK Group, becoming the third site after the historical home of Port la Forêt and the manufacturing unit in Lorient.

A growth relay and a specialty in foils

For the CDK Group and its new management team, which arrived at the end of 2021, this external growth operation is a way to strengthen its position in the fast-growing competitive sailing market and to enrich its technical know-how. C3 Technologies is particularly well known in the field of foils, a major issue in the construction of new racing yachts.

C3 Technologies has also increased its production capacity by adding 30 employees.

Enlargements in Lorient

At the same time, CDK Technologies will be making new investments in 2023 at its site in Morbihan. On a plot of land adjacent to its buildings in Lorient, the company will build an extension covering an area of 6,000 m2. The company's objective is to make its production areas even more specialized, in order to support its development and diversification. A space reserved for hydrofoils is planned, as well as another dedicated to new developments in high-speed yachting, maritime transport and defense.
