Bass Boat Europe : Buyers to revitalize the pontoon boat

Simon Pinet and Ludovic Brechet with Pierre-Loïc Deragne

The Bass Boat Europe company changes owner. The 2 new partners show their ambition for their brands of pontoon boats in France.

Sale of Bass Boat Europe

The company Bass Boat Europe imports a series of American brands on the continent, mainly intended for inland waters, both hulls for freshwater fishing and pontoon boats, a type of catamaran, popular in the United States. Its director Pierre-Loïc Deragne has made official the transfer of the company to two new partners, Simon Pinet and Ludovic Brechet, since September 2022.

The transferor states: "I am very pleased to hand over Bass Boat Europe to Simon and Ludovic who will ensure the legacy and development of bass boats and pontoon boats in France in the coming years. Their involvement, their youth and their vision of our markets will take the company into a new and exciting era. Since the connection made by the Nautilink company at the beginning of the year, the presence of Bass Boat Europe at the Nautic in Paris, marks the culmination of this handover."

Boosting the pontoon boat sector

Bass Boat Europe works in particular 4 brands of pontoon boats, each with its own positioning, from the entry level with Smart Liner to the luxury of Regency, through Sun Traker and Ranger. These boats were a favorite of the buyers, who are banking on this niche market, which is not very developed in France and Europe, to grow their company, which now employs 8 people. However, they will not abandon inland fishing. Ludovic Bréchet explains: "We fell in love with pontoon boats. The idea is: rather than having the party on land, let's have it on a pontoon boat. It's more about the use of the pontoon boat than the boat itself. You don't use the pontoon to sail but to get to an anchorage and spend the day having fun. You can also practice water sports. The clientele is mostly professional today and there's room to go after individuals."
