Refit in Bordeaux: A major operator from the Caribbean

The Bordeaux Superyacht Refit center has reached a new stage in the development of yachting activities in the Gironde city, with the arrival of IMM Yachting, a specialist already established in the Caribbean.

IMM Yachting sets up in Bordeaux

IMM Yachting, a company specializing in the refit of large yachts, has announced that it is moving to Bordeaux. The group, founded in 2007 by Fabrice Maître and now chaired by Norina Edelman, has thus acquired its first site in Europe. It already has facilities in Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Puerto Rico, with significant resources for the area.

A city adapted to the world of large yachts

For IMM Yachting's director, Norina Edelman, Bordeaux is an ideal location to meet the demanding expectations of the yachting world, on which work began in 2010. "We have always been convinced by the synergy and the obvious complementarity between the charms of the city of Bordeaux, the crews of our yachts and the technical offer of the local industrial basin. We are convinced that this is the ideal place to develop the refit of Megayachts, our specialty. Bordeaux, with its rich industrial network of subcontractors, also has the necessary infrastructure to carry out major work on these megayachts, with its numerous docks. The Bordeaux culture is in perfect adequacy with the yachting world and its crews"

Accelerating yachting in Bordeaux

For several years now, the city of Bordeaux and the local community have been working to accelerate the development of the superyacht industry, with varying degrees of success. Bordeaux Superyacht Refit, which brings together local manufacturers, is now supported by local and regional authorities, and by the Port of Bordeaux. The cluster is counting on being able to move to a new scale with the arrival of this first international player in the port of Bordeaux.
