During its presentation to investors, the Canadian group BRP displayed its growth ambitions. This strategy is supported by the progress of its new generation outboard engine project, called Project Ghost.

Passing the billion dollar mark in 2025

BRP Group presented its investors with the progress and update of its plan dubbed M25, following the Covid-19 pandemic. Compared to the plan unveiled in October 2019, the outdoor sports specialist says it can deliver on its targets, after having to adapt to supply and high demand issues from 2020 to 2022. The group is targeting $9.5 billion in revenue by 2025.

The marine division, which brings together the three Manitou, Alumacraft and Quintrex boatyards and the Sea-Doo jetski brand, since the discontinuation of the Evinrude outboards, is maintaining its goals of doubling its revenue. BRP has a goal of exceeding $1 billion in marine revenues by 2025.

Ghost Engine Advancements

After a phase of acquiring new boat brands in 2018 and 2019, then building its strengths in 2020 and 2021, through the strengthening of distribution networks and production, coupled with efforts in the research and development sector, BRP's Marine division is attacking the final stage of the plan, called Transform. Between 2022 and 2025, BRP wants to "revolutionize" boating with the new Manitou pontoon boats and the new Alumacraft and Quintrex hulls, equipped with the Ghost system.

Announced well in advance, the new outboard engine from Rotax (engine manufacturer of the BRP group) will be completely invisible from the boat. Only sketches are still available and BRP does not communicate on the precise release date.

By launching one new model per year, each of the 3 boat brands has ambitious growth targets compared to their acquisition dates by BRP, 4.6 times higher for Manitou, 2.7 times for Alumacraft and 2 times for Quintrex.
