After Spain, Plastimo continues its international strategy in Scandinavia

Plastimo, manufacturer and distributor of equipment for pleasure craft and professional marine, has announced a new international acquisition in Sweden. This operation is part of the company's global growth strategy, according to Jean-Paul Roche, head of the Alliance Marine group, which owns Plastimo.

Plastimo acquires its distributor Navinordic

After finalizing the acquisition of its Spanish distributor Dismarina in mid-July 2021 , Plastimo announced a new acquisition during the summer. The Breton manufacturer and distributor of equipment for pleasure craft and professional vessels has acquired its distributor in Sweden, the company Navinordic. The team led by Mikael Andersson remains unchanged. Navinordic will continue to distribute the brands already in its portfolio, often distributed by Plastimo or other brands of the Alliance Marine group in other countries, such as Andersen, Quick, Ronstan, AquaSignal, Glomex and Scanstrut.

Continuing the collaboration and strengthening the export business

As started in Spain, Plastimo and the Alliance Marine group see in this internalization of their distributor growth potential in key markets. "Spain and Scandinavia tick all the boxes: they are very attractive markets in which we are targeting not only the Yachting segment, but also a significant development of our activity in professional fishing and commercial marine. Choosing Dismarina in Spain and Navinordic in Sweden to deploy our ambitious plan was only natural: these two distributors are loyal to Plastimo and have been promoting our products and our brand for more than 30 years. They are undoubtedly the best partners, with an excellent knowledge of our products and a market expertise that only long-established local companies can bring to us" says Yann Cornec, Plastimo's operational director.

The type of companies, of medium size, also corresponds to the philosophy of the parent company, Alliance Marine, as confirmed by its director Jean-Paul Roche. "We are delighted to welcome to the Group two distribution structures whose business model is familiar to us. And finally, the Group sees its international prospects broaden by having two additional anchor points in territories with strong potential and maritime culture."
