Forespar, a new European director to revitalise the brands

Florian Foglietti, new European Director of Forespar

Florian Foglietti, Forespar's new director for Europe, explains his mission with the Californian equipment group, which includes plumbing, maintenance and fittings. Dynamisation of the network and development of the original equipment are on the programme.

Expansion of the missions

Florian Foglietti, founder of the La Rochelle-based company Nautex International, had been in charge of the distribution of Leisure Furl in-boom products for France since 2016. After a first year of successful collaboration, with several booms sold, the Forespar Group, owner of Leisure Furl, has decided to expand the scope of the agreement and entrust Florian Foglietti with the group's European management. He will be in charge of all the brands in the Forespar portfolio as of Nautic 2017.

Leisure Furl Boom

A multi-brand group

The Forespar group has several brands in the nautical sector, grouped into 4 main product families:

  • Composite plumbing, under the Marelon brand. The company produces reinforced composite material (valves, drains, through-hulls, vents, pipe fittings...)
  • Technical maintenance products, grouped under the English title Performance Care. The group manufactures lubricants, such as Marelub, and technical cleaning products.
  • Fittings. Forespar produces cleats and deck equipment. The spinnaker pole tips are among the best known products of the brand and are widely used in offshore racing.
  • In-boom furlers. Leisure Furl is one of the pioneer brands in the in-boom market.

Develop the European market

"After a year of working together on Leisure Furl, we came to the conclusion with Forespar that the group needed a reorganization in Europe. The management proposed me to take care of it", explains Florian Foglietti. "The reorganization involves the network, which I have to revitalize and develop by closing the gaps in our presence. We also need to develop the business, which today is mainly through distribution and sales to boaters. One of my main areas of work will be to push the original equipment market, particularly for the Marelon brand. If the FlowTech valve is very well known in offshore racing, we need to make the brand known in shipyards to develop OEM."
