Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône continues to expand its infrastructure for multihulls. The Pôle Nautisme Mer & Développement has just completed 170 meters of additional docks. The project is also intended to support the operations of the businesses based at the site.

In response to the demand for catamaran berths, Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône is expanding its on-water capacity. Two piers have been extended by a total of 170 meters. This is important not only for the port but also for the local boating industry.

An additional 170 meters for catamarans

The Pôle Nautisme Mer & Développement has completed a new phase of development at its multihull marina in Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. The project adds 170 linear meters of docks: 120 meters on Pier L and 50 meters on the western section of Pier K.

This additional capacity is intended to accommodate approximately ten multihulls, with mooring along the pontoon. It addresses the growing demand for berths for catamarans, whose width and mooring requirements call for specialized infrastructure.

The operator reports that it now accommodates more than 500 multihulls, both on land and in the water, throughout the Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône area.

Infrastructure Related to the Development of Water Sports Businesses

The issue is not limited to boat mooring. The expansion of Docks K and L also supports the establishment and operations of companies specializing in multihulls on the Mazet Peninsula.

The availability of berths thus becomes a key component of the real estate and technical offerings provided to professionals. Maintenance, refits, handling, and services for catamarans can benefit from the growing concentration of these vessels at the site.

This new phase represents an investment of 625,000 %C2euros, excluding tax. According to the Pôle Nautisme Mer & Développement, the Fonds vert - France Nation verte is contributing 25 percent, and the Région Sud is contributing 20 percent.

The pontoons also incorporate an environmental component

The project also includes work on the riverbanks and former port facilities. In particular, shelters for young fish are to be installed under the new pontoons; 80 percent of the funding for this component is provided by the Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse Water Agency.

The facilities also include off-grid solar lighting and connected docking stations. With this new expansion, Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône is continuing a strategy in which port capacity, facilities for multihulls, and the development of commercial activity are closely linked.
