Jean-François Quérat, new Atlantic Maritime Prefect

Appointments, departures, job changes... There have been changes at Préfecture maritime de l'Atlantique, Mission Plaisance des Affaires Maritimes, Helly Hansen, Slam, Zar Formenti and Vetus.

New Maritime Prefect for the Atlantic

On June 28, 2023, the Council of Ministers approved the appointment of a new Maritime Prefect for the Atlantic. Jean-François Quérat, 54, will succeed Olivier Lebas, who took up his post in 2020, on August 1, 2023.

Departure of the director of the yachting mission

After 8 years at the head of Affaires Maritimes' boating and water sports mission, Xavier Nicolas has been appointed to a new post in the Caribbean. Although the name of his successor is not yet known, the interim position will be filled by his deputy, Julien Fernandez, who joined the boating mission in February 2023.

Clément Machetel joins Slam

In charge of partnerships for Helly Hansen seawear brands in France since 2012, and for Musto France, Clément Machetel leaves the company to join the Slam brand, promoting it on the French market.

Kevin Pittet joins Zar Formenti

After 3 years as head of sales and distribution for French Boat Market, representing brands such as Galeon, Nuova Jolly, Rodman and White Shark, Kevin Pittet joins Italian brand Zar Formenti. He replaces Bernard Calestroupat, responsible for sales on the French market.

A series of appointments at Vetus

Equipment manufacturer Vetus makes a series of appointments. Geert van der Veen joins the company, where he has already worked for several years in the past, as Sales Manager in the glazing sector. Maurice Fransen joins as Sales Manager for Electric Powertrains, with the task of consolidating key accounts and OEM partnerships. Finally, Erik Peters takes over responsibility for digital marketing and brand promotion.
