Capt'n Boat launches a skipper booking module for rental companies

Capt'n Boat, the professional skipper recruitment specialist, unveils an API dedicated to yacht charter websites. A tool to simplify the rental with skippers, currently in full growth.

A tool for boat rental companies

Capt'n Boat was created to facilitate the use of a professional sailor by boaters. The website already works with rental agencies and boat rental companies, which refer customers who want a skipper to the platform. To further simplify the process, Capt'n Boat is now launching an API, integrated to the rental companies' websites for a fully transparent operation. "When the customer clicks on the box with skipper on the rental company's website, the information is transferred directly to Capt'n Boat where an ad is created corresponding to all the characteristics of the mission: place, boat, dates..." says Olivier Quideau, marketing manager of Capt'n Boat.

Interested sailors, from the database of 2500 professional sailors in about 40 countries, then contact the travel agency, which forwards the relevant applications to the client. By taking the Capt'n Boat concierge option, the platform's teams can also proactively approach sailors to quickly find the interested sailor. In compliance with the regulations, the final client finally contracts directly with his skipper via Capt'n Boat.

A growing market for skippered rentals

Following a trend that has been in place for several years, skippered yacht charters continued to grow in the summer of 2022. Click and Boat has announced a 50% rate of monohull charters with skippers and 80% for catamarans. For its part, GlobeSailor is talking about a growth of +15% compared to 2021.

Simplifying their search further, via an API, meets a request regularly made in this context, explains Emeric Leveau-Vallier, CEO of Capt'n Boat. "The high demand for skippers and hostesses this summer confirms the need for automation and simplification of this demand, the Capt'n Boat API is there to meet this need and facilitate the process on both the professional and end-customer side."
