The BSI Group and its well-known brands in the nautical industry, Gori, Moonlight, Jefa Steering Systems and Jefa Rudder, have a new representative in France, after the disappearance of Gréement Import. Chloé Le Roux, explains to us the takeover and the projects in progress for the brands of deck fittings and equipment for yachting.

Continuity of BSI's brands in France

Chloé Le Roux is the new representative in France of the brands of the Scandinavian nautical group BSI. She markets the products in the catalogue, from Gori folding propellers to Jefa rudder transmission systems and accessories and rudder bearings, including Moonlight deck hatches, Easyblock blockers or BSI rigging parts. Formerly commercial in the South of France within Gréement Import, the former distributor in France of the BSI group which disappeared in May 2020, she sees this new activity as a continuity. "It is a fairly logical continuation after the closure of Gréement Import. Brendan (editor's note: the founder of the company) put the partner brands, like BSI for a number of years, in contact with the former employees so that this relationship could continue and customers could find their brands again," says Chloé Le Roux.

Reconciling the development of the first production boat assemblies and one-off projects

Entirely dedicated to the BtoB activity for BSI in France, Chloé Le Roux works both with new boat building sites, maintenance sites and a network of dealers, sailmakers and riggers. Despite the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, business is rather satisfactory for the Scandinavian group's brands, driven by custom boat projects. In particular, Gori propellers equip part of the fleet of IMOCA yachts currently taking part in the Vendée Globe. The original equipment market also remains in the spotlight. "When I am contacted by private yachtsmen, I systematically refer them to dealers. At the moment, we're quite busy with the one-off and big boat projects. There are a lot of refits and travel boats being done, even in the current context. At the same time, I am trying to free up time to approach shipyards and develop the OEM, original equipment business," explains the BSI representative in France.
