North Sails signs 2 CSR partnerships

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, North Sails has announced the signature of 2 partnerships. The brand joins the 30x30 initiative of the NGO Worldrise, which aims to transform 30% of Italy's coasts and seas into marine protected areas by 2030. The company also supports Coral Gardeners, an association of scientists based in Moorea in French Polynesia that is restoring coral reefs by developing a coral nursery.

Sharrow Marine builds its propeller factory

The Sharrow Marine company, which has been the source of a innovative propeller system claiming 9-15% higher efficiency compared to conventional thrusters, starts construction of a production plant. The site will be based in Detroit, Michigan.

Silent Yachts joins forces with Volkswagen and Cupra

The Austrian shipyard, which has been specialising in Silent Yachts electro-solar catamarans for 15 years, has signed a partnership with 2 automotive companies for the development of its new model. It will be based on the German engine manufacturer Volkswagen and its MEB modular electric drive technology. The design of the boats will be carried out in collaboration with Cupra, formerly Seat Sport, based in Barcelona.

Surrender in marine insurance

The British marine insurance brokerage company Topsail Insurance has announced the acquisition of its competitor Y Yacht Insurance. The transaction includes the acquisition of the Paris-based Y Y Yacht Assurances France branch.
