Boot: Dusseldorf Boat Show confirms European leadership

Boot Dusseldorf 2020

At the time of the assessment of the 2020 edition, the Boot Düsseldorf is consolidating its leading position in the European and global boating industry. Summarized in a few striking figures.

Key figures of Boot 2020

In its press release at the end of the exhibition, Messe Düsseldorf, the organizer of the Boot, recalls several key figures of the 2020 edition. It is too early for an exact number of visitors, but officials predict that the number of visitors will exceed 250,000, up from 247,700 in 2019. Visitors are international, coming from 106 countries. Foreigners account for 25% of inflows, mainly from Europe, but also from the United States and Canada.

The 17 halls of the Boat Show's exhibition centre housed 1,900 exhibitors from all over the world.

Satisfied organizers and visitors

Boot Düsseldorf Director Petros Michelidakis is delighted with the success of the new exhibition organization and claims a 96% visitor satisfaction rate. "The new and very clear layout of the halls with special routes for the different targets was a great success. Boot fans were able to perfectly organize their personal tour of the show with the "Power Walk" through Halls 1 to 9 for powerboat enthusiasts, the "Sailors' Walk" in Halls 15 to 17, the "Holiday Walk" in Halls 13 and 14, the "Divers Walk" in Halls 11 and 12 and the "Surfers' Hotspot" in Hall 8a."

An event that goes beyond boating

The Boot's strength also lies in its ability to go beyond the simple boat enthusiasts, unlike most other boat shows. This makes comparisons of visitor numbers complex, but probably explains part of its success. The diving halls alone welcome more than 400 exhibitors. Brands from 17 countries are present in the area dedicated to surfing.
