Salon International du Multicoque: What changes in April 2024 at La Grande Motte?

The International Multihull Show will hold its 15th edition from April 3 to 7, 2024. Its new organizer unveils a few new features for this "transitional" edition of the benchmark show in the world of multihull yachting.

Continuing the success story of the multihull boat show

Between April 3 and 7, 2024, La Grande Motte will host the 15th edition of the International Multihull Show. Handed over in September 2023 by its founders Frédéric Morvan and Philippe Michel to the Fédération des Industries Nautiques, the event thus enters a special year, as Jean-Paul Chapeleau, president of the federation, concedes: "FIN has supported the multihull show since 2017 and has only owned it since September 2023. so 2024 is a transition year for us to see and imagine what can change."

Still an international show

The figures, still provisional with a month to go, according to the organizer, bear witness to a show that remains attractive and international. 150 exhibitors are expected, including 25 new professionals (16%). Exhibitors include boatbuilders, equipment manufacturers and marine service providers of 13 nationalities. The 26 exhibitors in the afloat area will be showcasing 58 boats. The exhibition space covers more than 4,000 m2 afloat and ashore.

Minor changes and growth in power catamarans

The show's new director, Caroline Popovici, lists the minor changes to be implemented in 2024, with the organization giving itself the opportunity to take advantage of this 1st year at the helm for smooth changes: "Following feedback from customer experiences, we have set up more catering areas, 5 in number, with our partners. One of the new features is the creation of a test area for small boats and innovative products, where it will be possible, among other things, to see AGL Marine's Monawa station, test Temo's electric motors or e-Nav's hybrid solutions on 3DTender tenders. There will also be a space for the Nautical Team recruited from the FIN with OPCO2i."

The range of boats on display will continue to evolve. Visitors should find a greater number of tenders exhibited on land, while the presence of powercats continues to grow, reaching 6 brands and 11 boats, with the arrival of a major new exhibitor in the form of the Chinese-American Aquila, a major player in the sector.
