Nautical Innovation & Novelty Awards to be presented at Nautic 2018

The NINA association launches the Nautical Innovation and Novelty Awards, a competition aimed at start-ups and dynamic companies in the nautical industry.

A competition for innovation in boating

NINA now has 2 meanings. The acronym of the association Nautisme Innovation Numérique Atlantique is also that of its new competition Nautical Innovation & Novelty Awards. The concept, already tested in 2014, is back in 2019, with the aim of being long-term. The prizes will reward companies and innovative projects in the boating and leisure industries. "One of NINA's missions is to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in boating. Consequently, this innovation competition gives meaning to our action," says Patrick Piveteau, President of NINA. "For the association, it is also an important moment when its members commit themselves to an event that will become our"totem" federator."

1st regional stage during the Solitaire du Figaro

Supported by the Pays de la Loire region, the competition starts with a first local level. Local companies will present their innovations at Saint-Gilles Croix-de-Vie during the stopover of the Solitaire URGO Le Figaro race. The winner, pre-selected for the national final, will have a presentation stand at the Nautic within the region.

A national final at the Nautic

The Paris Boat Show will host the national final. Companies from all over France, selected by the jury and the public, will present their projects on the Nautic stage. In addition to media exposure, the winners will benefit from support from the Atlanpole regional structure. "We want the Nautic to become the presentation, pooling and development centre for French nautical innovation. We will host the final of the Nautical Innovation & Novelty Awards supported by the Pays de la Loire Region. Our objective for 2019 will be to encourage all Regions to participate in the competition, with, we hope, the possibility of funding the winning projects," explains Fabien Métayer, General Delegate of the Fédération des Industries Nautiques.
