Electronic cartography, C-Map acquired by the owner of Navico

The electronic chart company C-Map is taken over by the Digital Marine Solutions group. An opportunity to continue its development.

Refocusing for former owner Jeppesen

Until now, C-Map was the marine brand of Jeppesen, the subsidiary of the American group Boeing, dedicated to navigation assistance tools. It provides electronic cards compatible with a large number of readers on the market. The aviation group's new strategy is refocusing on its core business. He therefore wished to sell his marine branch, which was no longer consistent with his industrial policy.

Digital Marine Solutions and the Altor 2003 fund, specialists in marine electronics

The Digital Marine Solutions group is owned by the Scandinavian investment fund Altor 2003. The latter is also the majority shareholder in Navico, a leading marine electronics company with the B&G, Eagle, Lowrance, Northstar and Simrad brands. The acquisition of C-Map Jeppesen by Digital Marine Solutions is fully in line with the holding company's activities and will enable the brand to benefit from synergies with Navico.

Continuity of activities and partnerships

Existing products will continue to be marketed under the C-Map brand. Now available in many media, C-Map electronic charts will continue to be compatible with all existing readers, including Navico's competitors, such as Raymarine, Furuno or Humminbird.
