UberBoat?s launch on Lake Annecy and in Marseille will not go ahead after all. In a press release issued on July 23, 2026, the communications agency representing UberBoat and Click & Boat stated that the platform has decided to focus its launch on five European destinations: Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Ibiza, and Lisbon.
Annecy Left Out of the European Launch
According to representatives of the platform, this decision was made in early July 2026. Boat owners already listed on Click & Boat in Annecy?whether professional or private?remain subject to local regulations, and no new boats have been added as part of the UberBoat launch.

However, the platform's officials did not wish to specify whether this decision signifies a permanent abandonment of the project or merely a postponement.
Marseille has also been withdrawn from the project

Marseille was also among the cities mentioned during the announcement of UberBoat?s launch in France. Like Annecy, Marseille is ultimately no longer part of the first phase of deployment. The platform has not provided any explanation for this withdrawal and has not specified whether it is a permanent cancellation or merely a postponement. This decision, however, affects one of the Mediterranean?s major recreational boating areas, where the boat rental market is already particularly well-developed.
