Paddle, Kayak, and Surf Shop: Zhik Entrusts Its Business Development in France to Chloé Leroux

Already active in the distribution of technical equipment for recreational boating, Chloé Leroux is expanding her scope of operations. As a representative of BSI A/S, she is now supporting the development of the Zhik Paddle Sport line in France. This initiative targets specialized networks in paddleboarding, kayaking, and other paddle sports.

The paddle sports market continues to take shape in Europe, with growing demand for technical equipment tailored to an increasingly diverse range of activities. In this context, the Australian brand Zhik has entrusted Chloé Leroux with the commercial development of its Paddle Sport line through surf shops, paddle shops, kayak distributors, and specialty retail networks in France.

A company with an established presence in the marine equipment sector

Based in Lorient, Chloé Le Roux has been working since June 2020 as an independent sales representative for the brands Gori Propeller, Jefa Steering, Jefa Rudder, Moonlight, BSI Rigging, and Shaft Shark.

This experience allows him to work with shipyards, equipment distributors, installers, and refit professionals. This network is a valuable asset when it comes to introducing new technical product lines to the French market.

A long-standing familiarity with the brand and snow sports

This new role is also a natural extension of Chloé Leroux?s journey with the Australian brand. Before representing Zhik in the French market, she had already worked for the equipment manufacturer and is familiar with its products, as she uses them regularly in her own water sports activities.

A regatta sailor who also enjoys stand-up paddleboarding, foiling, and board sports, she is also active in the worlds of kayaking and surfing. This hands-on experience allows her to understand athletes? expectations, whether in terms of comfort, freedom of movement, or the durability of equipment under intensive use. This practical insight complements her sales expertise with specialty retailers.

Why Zhik Is Interested in the Stand-Up Paddleboarding and Kayaking Market

Initially known in the worlds of dinghy sailing and regattas, Zhik has gradually developed a specialized product line for paddle sports. Today, this line covers stand-up paddleboarding, sea kayaking, competitive kayaking, and rowing. The line consists of technical apparel designed to support athletes in a variety of conditions, from inland bodies of water to coastal routes.

The paddle sports segment is now a distinct market from traditional water sports. Specialized distribution networks have their own channels, events, and communities of participants. Commercial development therefore requires a dedicated approach.

Equipment designed to withstand the rigors of paddling sports

The Zhik Paddle Sport collection is organized into several categories of technical products.

The collection includes quick-drying base layers, UPF 50+ UV-protective clothing, reinforced shorts designed for extended periods of sitting, waterproof smocks, thermal clothing, and various protective accessories.

The needs of paddlers differ significantly from those of recreational boaters. Repetitive upper-body movements require a high degree of joint mobility in the shoulders. Managing sweat also becomes a key consideration during sustained exertion. The brand also emphasizes stretch fabrics, form-fitting cuts, and materials designed to minimize chafing during long training sessions or multi-hour expeditions.
