The Spanish sailing community has reason to celebrate: the Ministry of Health, through the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs, following a final court ruling, will sell and dispose of a pleasure craft that is sure to be the object of desire for many sailing enthusiasts this summer.

This unique 'ketch' has been in the Spanish Navy's possession for the past few years and is set to continue sailing the seas; interested parties (shipowners, charter operators, venture capital firms or investors specialising in refits) will have the opportunity to bid for this marvellous feat of naval engineering. The custom-built ocean-going vessel TAMBO A-82, formerly known as WK London and Anna, has been put up for public auction via the www.escrapalia.com platform with a starting price of 180,000 euros.

Built between 2004 and 2005 by the Ukrainian shipyard Liman JSC, the TAMBO A-82 is a custom motor-sail ketch designed for offshore sailing and long voyages. Its robust steel hull, combined with a clad aluminium superstructure, provides structural qualities that are particularly valued for professional sailing programmes and conversion or modernisation projects.

With an approximate length of 28.9 metres, a beam of 8 metres and a draught of 3.60 metres, the vessel stands out for its size, operational capacity and range. It is fitted with a 490 hp Caterpillar 3196 diesel engine, which is currently operational, and has tanks for 20,000 litres of fuel and 15,000 litres of fresh water, enabling it to achieve an estimated range of up to 4,500 nautical miles.

These features make the TAMBO A-82 a particularly attractive platform for a wide range of uses, including experiential charters, ocean expeditions, advanced nautical training, corporate programmes, exclusive tourism projects and floating hospitality initiatives.

The vessel is currently moored at the Naval Military Academy in Marín (Pontevedra), where interested parties will have the opportunity to take part in a technical viewing scheduled for 2 July 2026, prior to the final closure of the sale process.

The auction will remain open until 16 July 2026 and will take place entirely via the Escrapalia online platform, where interested parties can view the available documentation, the conditions of participation and the procedure for submitting bids.

For industry professionals, it is rare for a vessel of this size, with an ocean-going configuration and such commercial potential, to appear on the market at such a competitive starting price. The combination of its considerable length, robust construction and transoceanic capability makes the TAMBO A-82 an asset of particular interest to those seeking to develop new nautical projects or expand their fleet with a vessel of unique characteristics.

The sale is being conducted on behalf of and for the account of the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs, highlighting the ongoing work and efforts the administration continues to make to realise the value of such assets, which originate mainly from the Fund for Assets Seized in connection with illicit drug trafficking and other related offences.
