In Concarneau, Iniz cutlery offers a handcrafted approach to personalized knives, designed for professionals in the maritime sector, from shipyards to equipment manufacturers.

At a time when nautical companies are seeking to give meaning to their communication objects, the market for goodies is evolving. In Concarneau, the Iniz cutlery company is developing an artisanal approach to personalized knives, designed for maritime professionals, from shipyards to equipment manufacturers.

Cutlery born of the maritime world

Iniz cutlery, which means "island" in Breton, was created in 2021 by Emmanuel Labory. Based in Concarneau for some twenty years, he has long worked in the nautical, fishing and maritime industries, with a career largely based on exchanges with industry players and professionals.
The creation of Iniz marks a choice of territorial roots, in a town historically oriented towards the sea, while retaining a strong link with the marine world.

Le Moutons, a knife designed for sailors

The first model to be developed, Le Moutons is a folding knife for sailors. Its name pays homage to the lighthouse on Île aux Moutons, in the Glénan archipelago, and to the "sheep's foot" blade shape historically used on sailing ships.
The design is pure, with rounded lines and ergonomics suited to use at sea, both on deck and ashore.

A patented locking system

Iniz also stands out for its patented Exolock locking system. Designed around a stainless steel rod, it simultaneously assembles, rotates and locks the blade.
The knife is based on just three components: the handle, the blade and the shaft, making it lightweight, functional and easy to maintain - a feature appreciated in marine environments.

French materials and complete manufacturing in Concarneau

Handles are cut from local species or from wood scraps destined for destruction, such as apple, pear, yew or olive recovered after storms.

The stainless steel blade, nitrogen-tempered for improved corrosion resistance, is produced in Thiers. The Exolock rod comes from Isère. All machining, assembly, sharpening and finishing operations are carried out in Concarneau.

Personalization as an image-boosting tool for companies

Iniz offers engraving of logos, company names or specific series, positioning its knives as durable communication objects. This approach is aimed at shipyards, equipment manufacturers, ports or nautical companies wishing to offer a useful and identifiable object. In terms of budget, this distinctive gift is available from ?50 excluding VAT, with a minimum order of 12 pieces.

A handmade alternative to industrial goodies

In a sector where brand image and local roots are becoming increasingly important, Iniz cutlery offers an artisanal response to the needs of professionals. Each knife is handmade in small series, with clear traceability of materials and know-how.
It's a long-term approach that's particularly popular with those in the maritime industry who are attached to objects that are useful, robust and consistent with their world.
