Cummins commits $50 million to expand manufacturing capacity

Cummins announces a major industrial investment at its Daventry site in the UK. The project aims to increase production capacity and modernize industrial facilities. The site, which has been in operation for over fifty years, employs over one thousand one hundred people.

Daventry, a historic site

The Daventry site has been operated by Cummins for over fifty years. It designs, manufactures and distributes large-displacement engines, from 38 liters to 95 liters, for a number of markets, including marine, power and industrial.

With over one thousand one hundred employees, the site is a key industrial hub for the Group in the UK. The announced investment is designed to ensure the long-term future of this site, by strengthening its industrial competitiveness and production capacity.

Increase production capacity and modernize lines

The program includes the creation of a new assembly line. This will include three new machining centers and modernization of the engine block washing facilities.

These developments are designed to increase production volumes and enhance the site's industrial flexibility. They are part of a strategy to adapt to growing demand for power systems, particularly for energy production.

Strengthening test capabilities

The project also includes the renovation of test bench capacities. This investment is designed to meet growing worldwide demand for power generation solutions, against a backdrop of expanding energy and digital infrastructures.

For Cummins, Daventry plays a key role in supplying engines and solutions for mission-critical applications, some of which are directly relevant to professional marine and port facilities.

An investment as part of a global program

The Daventry investment is part of a two hundred million dollar global plan already announced by Cummins. The stated aim is to secure skilled jobs, strengthen local supply chains and support long-term industrial development.

Jenny Bush, President of Cummins Power Systems, explains
"Cummins is investing around $50 million at its Daventry site, to secure skilled jobs, strengthen local communities and develop critical power generation infrastructure."
