safeSEA V200 from Ocean Signal, a GMDSS VHF for maritime professionals

Ocean Signal will be presenting its GMDSS safeSEA V200 VHF at METSTRADE 2025. Designed for vessels subject to SOLAS regulations, it features dual power supplies and automatic activation. Useful features for professionals.

Ocean Signal's new GMDSS safeSEA V200 handheld VHF clearly targets the needs of maritime professionals. With its SOLAS compliance, flexibility of use and easy maintenance, this model is aimed at shipowners, shipyards, distributors and fleet managers.

Regulatory certification for SOLAS use

The safeSEA V200 meets the requirements of IMO Resolution MSC.515(105) and is fully compliant with GMDSS. It is therefore suitable for compulsory installation on board vessels subject to the SOLAS Convention. Its presence is required in lifeboats, and it can be integrated into safety grab bags. This is essential for operators of commercial fleets, marine rescue services and marine works vessels.

Dual feed system for optimized use

The integration of a dual battery meets a growing demand in the industry to reconcile everyday use with emergency preparedness. The primary lithium battery is secured (with warning label) and automatically activates the radio on channel 16 with pre-configured GMDSS parameters. In addition, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery enables daily operational use, with full access to the VHF bands (International, US, Canada). This is a key point for mixed fleets.

Technical features for harsh environments

The equipment is IPX7 certified and remains operational with gloves on, making it suitable for offshore environments and heavy-weather operations. Its compact size, backlit interface and LCD display make it both robust and accessible. The design makes it easy to integrate into the maintenance regimes of professional vessels.

Easy management via NFC

Integrated NFC technology enables digital tracking of equipment. Via a mobile application, it is possible to consult the battery replacement deadline, product and maintenance data. This digital tracking system meets operators' growing need for traceability.

International distribution and documentation

The V200 is already available on European and international markets, with multilingual technical documentation. In North America, it is available under the name ACR SR303, and comes complete with all accessories: flexible antenna, belt clip, lanyard and mounting bracket.
