Groupe Beneteau consolidates its service offering in the Mediterranean with the acquisition of BMS Shipyard

Groupe Beneteau strengthens its service offering in the Mediterranean with the acquisition of BMS Shipyard, based in Canet-en-Roussillon (Pyrénées-Orientales). This move is part of the Group's global strategy to expand its premium service offering around its portfolio brands, and in particular Lagoon, the world leader in cruising catamarans.

Groupe Beneteau consolidates its service offering in the Mediterranean with the acquisition of BMS Shipyard. The deal gives Lagoon a trusted partner specializing in the maintenance, customization and refit of large catamarans, strengthening its proximity to Mediterranean-based owners.

A high value-added acquisition

Every year, more than 50 Lagoon catamarans pass through the hands of BMS Shipyard, renowned for the quality of its work on vessels from 50 to 80 feet. The company, which has 14 employees and achieved sales of 3.3 million euros in 2025, will continue to operate under the management of its founders, Pascal Cantiran and Denis Ranjard.

The shipyard retains its local roots in Canet-en-Roussillon, while benefiting from the industrial, logistical and commercial resources of the Beneteau Group.

This integration completes Lagoon's worldwide network of service centers, now boasting 7 locations, and positions the Mediterranean as a strategic hub for technical support, maintenance and refit of large catamarans.

Development focused on customer relations

For Bruno Thivoyon, Chairman of the Board of Groupe Beneteau, this acquisition illustrates a long-term vision: "We are taking a new step in the development of our service offering. This merger illustrates our determination to support our customers throughout the life of their boat."

The Canet shipyard thus reinforces the Group's strategy, which goes beyond boat production to focus on the added value of ownership services: technical follow-up, annual maintenance, customization programs and resale support.

For Clément Himily, General Manager of the Sailing Business Unit, this approach is designed to complement the product offering: "This acquisition reinforces our ambition to make Lagoon a global benchmark not only in terms of products and responsible innovation, but also in services and customer support."

A partnership based on complementarity

For his part, Pascal Cantiran, co-founder of BMS, stresses the human dimension of this merger: "Much more than an alliance, this is the coming together of two complementary visions: the Beneteau Group's capacity for innovation and development, and BMS's local expertise with owners. Together, we will continue to develop the notion of customer service and take it even further."

This synergy will enable BMS to extend its reach into new markets, while maintaining its artisanal culture and responsiveness as an independent worksite.

A shared ambition: to anchor service over the long term

By acquiring BMS Shipyard, Groupe Beneteau is affirming its determination to extend customer relations beyond boat delivery. This approach, already initiated with the development of the Seanapps platform and the Beneteau Boat Club offer, illustrates a broader transformation of the Group: that of a builder who has become a global player in the owner experience.

For Lagoon, the challenge is clear: to make service a natural extension of the product, rather than a simple after-sales service. The Mediterranean, where a large part of Lagoon's fleet is concentrated, is thus becoming a privileged testing ground for this new premium support strategy.
