ePropulsion launches a local subsidiary to boost its presence in France

China's leading manufacturer of electric marine engines, ePropulsion, announces the creation of a direct subsidiary in France. Headed by a market specialist in France, its mission is to boost the brand's presence in a changing market.

Creation of ePropulsion France

Previously distributed via importer MIDIF, ePropulsion electric motors will now be marketed directly in France by a national subsidiary called ePropulsion France. Based in Pontchateau, Loire-Atlantique, the company, officially headed by Steve Bruce, head of the UK subsidiary, will be managed operationally by Erwan Grandpierre, former sales manager for Torqeedo in France for 14 years. He explains: "We have 250 m 2 at Pontchateau for storage, logistics and offices. I'm in charge of the commercial aspects and management of the subsidiary. Christophe Fichou assists me with the launch, after-sales service and shipping. A third recruitment is envisaged after the season, depending on developments."

Boosting the French market

While ePropulsion's catalog continues to expand, with the release in 2022 of a higher-powered Inboard range, from 60 to 250 kW, and the renewal of the outboard range with the X series from 12 to 40 kW, the level of presence on the French market was not in line with the potential of the French yachting market. Erwan Grandpierre explains the objectives: "ePropulsion is a leader in several European countries, and there is significant potential in France. MIDIF will remain a reseller and will continue to work on current projects and with its customers. We will continue to develop ePropulsion and work with customers who have not yet been explored. In particular, ePropulsion France will be able to develop direct links with the central offices of hardware store chains."
