Marinas: An agreement signed on the revaluation of salaries

The social partners have reached an agreement on wage increases in the marina industry. An encouraging success for the French Federation of Marinas which wishes to move forward on other structural subjects for the sector.

Wages on the rise in marinas

During the Permanent Joint Negotiation and Interpretation Commission held on April 18, 2023, the French Federation of Marinas - FFFPP representing the employers and the employee trade unions reached an agreement for the increase of salaries in the branch. All marina personnel will see their salaries increase by 2.5% on May 1st 2023 and by 1.5% on July 1st 2023.

The president of the FFPP, Michaël Quernez, sees this agreement as an important element in facilitating the sometimes complex recruitment of personnel for the ports: "The agreement on staff remuneration is a strong commitment that employers are making to their staff. This agreement contributes to strengthening the attractiveness of the professions in our sector and should also enable marina managers to recruit staff with multiple skills in order to cope with the various transitions currently being implemented within marinas."

While the year 2022 was marked by a stalemate in the middle of the year over salaries, the dialogue has since resumed in a positive dynamic. Delegate General Guillaume Nardin states: "We had already signed an increase in September 2022 and January 1, 2023. The FFPP is aware of the social and salary issues of the moment. There is a fluid and constructive dialogue today."

Work on structural issues of marinas

The FFPP and the trade unions have agreed to look into other subjects that they consider essential for marinas in the coming months, such as professional training, the organization of working hours or profit-sharing contracts. Guillaume Nardin is delighted: "There is a shared desire to move forward together on substantive issues."
