Ancora Yacht Festival: Hamburg boat show organizers' ambitions

The Hamburg yachting event (previously known as Hanseboot) returns to the German yachting calendar with high ambitions.

Return from the Hamburg Boat Show

Absent since 2019 from the calendar, the Hamburg Boat Show is back in 2022. Taken over by new organizers, YachtFestival365 GmbH, the show previously known as Hanseboot until 2018 is now called Hanburg ancora Yacht Festival. It will be held from May 20 to 22, 2022 in the Neustadt Holstein marina.

2 weeks after the opening of reservations, the organizers are pleased with their fill rate and claim the title of Germany's largest afloat show. In 2019, 180 boats were presented and 18,000 visitors explored the 1,200 square meters of exhibition space.

More than 90 boats are already registered for the 2022 edition of the Hamburg ancora Yacht Festival, from international shipyards, particularly from the Baltic zone, with premieres of the Hanse 460 or the Swedish brand Hallberg Rassy, but also from shipyards such as the Dutch Saffier. The afloat show also benefits from the cancellation of indoor events, including the most important in Germany and Europe, the Boot Düsseldorf.

"I am very pleased that we have such confidence as a private company. Nevertheless, the bookings show that there is an urgent need for temporary market places in the sector. In the last 2 years, on the one hand, water sports have exploded, but on the other hand, there has been less direct contact with customers outside of the already held customer lists due to the cancellation of shows because of the pandemic. Exhibitors finally want to exhibit in real life and interested visitors to see, touch and compare again." emphasizes Heiko Zimmermann director of the organizing company of the Hamburg ancora Yacht Festival.
